As some of you may know, I love finding inspiration from the world around me, and I try and interpret it into nail art.

One thing that is abundantly found where I live are mountains. They are gorgeous all the time, but especially when they are covered in snow. I decided to take one of my original photographs of a snowcapped mountain and create a design based on it. I will share my nails, and then the picture that inspired me :)

I used Blu and Genesis by Zoya, and both a grey and white unbranded polish to complete this look :)

Tutorial:

I started off with a base of Blu.
I then used a fan brush and Genesis to create subtle clouds over my base.
Using a nail art brush and a grey polish I painted the outline of the mountain, and filled it in.
I used a white polish and a sponge to add the effect of snow on the mountain.
I then went back with the grey polish and brushed it randomly over the snow.
The last step was to use the sponge and the white to add a second coat of snow.

I went back over the snow with grey to add a bit of dimension to the snow.

What do you think?

This mountain is the highest in my area at 16,480 ft, and it can be seen from everywhere in my town. I actually summited this mountain back in January (the peak on my ring finger is where we hiked too), while it had the same amount of snow on it :) This fact makes this design even more personal to me :)

Thank you Sabrina! I find that the only way to have truly 1 of a kind, never before done nail art, is to use an original photo as inspiration :) I would love to be a photographer, so I am always taking pictures, which means I always have inspiration! I am so glad you like it! And I knew you would like the color choices ;) I absolutely love Blu!
