A lot of people think I look a lot older than I am, and sometimes even distant family members think I'm older than my older sister. What about my look makes me look so old? Is it bad? And how old do I look?

You are 14? You have a very mature body. I know that sounds weird but most 14 year olds are still a bit gangly and you look put together. I am twelve and someone asked me if I was in college. I am tall for my age and I filled out earlier than most girls my age. For awhile I was insecure about it but now it is just who I am. I wear more makeup than the average person but that's because I love it, makeup can add age to your face though.

Erica thanks...? Ciaran, same, I'm not insecure about it I'm just wondering is it in a good way or a bad way like if I'll look 40 when I'm 30. Thank you Elisa, but many girls I know my age are filled out as well, and people still assume I'm older, which doesn't make sense because personally I often feel like I look younger than my age.

Ok yea u look 20-something, every body is different. Pic 2 looks younger because ur hair is shinier and not casting a shadow over your face. Brush your hair back to tame the shadows. Keep your makeup on the lighter side since your eyes are deep set and create thier own shadow and depth. Focus on brightening not shading. Use a whitening toothpaste. Rembrandt is great. Use a lip pencil under your gloss to maintain the fullness of your lips. Keep brows tidy. Drink plenty of water. (stay away from sugar, caffeine, and booze) Nothing ages us faster than dehydration.

I'm 13 I have the same problem! Someone asked me if I was a sophomore and if I was driving! I felt a little awkward, but I got over it, I am more filled in my chest and very tall that the other girls in my class, but I'm unique love yourself!!

Exact same problem.. I'm taller than most girls at my school and my body is more mature so I fit in with the high schoolers more. You'll learn to get over it because its not a bad thing. I actually find it funny when someone says I look 20 and the shock on their face after you tell them how old you really are

Thanks for your input guys! Especially Loren, I'm going to try my sisters night cream for a bit and maybe get some of my own. I'll see if we have any cucumbers too! I have naturally dark under eyes though because I'm mediterranean, my mom and grandfather do too. Is there any concealer you would suggest?

This is a picture of me at my Sixth grade graduation and I was 12! My body and face were really mature then, I facially looked in my 20s (since you can't see there). My face has not really matured since then though and I'm 23 now-if anything I look younger than I did when I was young! Since I was 11 or 12, I made sure to take really great care of my skin when I went out in the sun. I would always wear lots of sunscreen especially on my face and I would try to stay out of the sun. Now my face looks like it did when I was 12 since I took good care of it.
I didn't really mind looking older and eventually my little sister ended up looking like my older sister! Just like you do! She takes really good care of her skin as well. Our mom spent her whole life working outside in the sun and smoking so she has always been fairly wrinkled for her age, so we definitely took a lot of the precautions that she didn't and she says our skin is in much better shape than hers was at our ages (even though we are both trying to kick a 10+ year smoking habit). So if you take good care of your skin, there is nothing to worry about for looking 40 when you're 30, I think these things will balance out.

You don't look like you're in your twenties to me. You do look older in the first photo so I'll go on what I see in your second. I would say you look about 16. Don't worry about it. It doesn't mean you're going to look older than you are when you actually get older.
