Update on coconut oil mask! I guess I went with the "more is better" thinking and had to shampoo my hair twice in a row to get all of the oil out. By then I had of course undone any good the mask might have done! I think in the this case I will stick with store bought masks as much as I like diy ideas!

...reread responses and damp hair is the way to go-sorry about that!

I often use a drop on my dry ends and down the back with my dry and coarse, (but straight 😞)hair. I'll try both methods and report back.

I've always done it on dry hair. I'm Indian and we've been using coconut oil on hair since forever. It's usually massaged on dry hair. Also my hair is of a thick, med course texture and naturally curly - if I apply it to my hair damp or wet, I use a VERY small amount and it almost acts like a smoothing gel in my hair. But it will get greasy fast.

Absolutely wet/damp hair. about mid way to ends. if you use a shower cap, use it as a conditioner. leave on for 5 minutes.

Damp I would guess as I think the cuticle would still be more open and it would penetrate more easily. This is just a guess though.

Is it best applied to wet, damp, or fry hair?
