Ipsy is more makeup related and birch box is more skin care and other items related.

Like Camillia said, it depends on what you're looking for! Birchbox tends to send more skincare as well as shampoos, hair items, etc. Ipsy tends to send more makeup but still some skincare. I find Birchbox tends to send the longer lasting samples.(:
