I went into sephora today looking for a contour kit. I saw tons of reviews on the abh contour pallette and I saw tons of videos on how people were having a hard time blending it. then I saw kst von D's pallette wasn't sure about it. I kinda loved the color for contour pallette I think it was $45 but only has 4 shades. do you think it's worth the price? or what's a good cream contour pallette that you have been using or used?? it would also be my first contour pallette.

I have seen folks on Youtube use all kinds of different things to contour - specific contour powders, contour sticks, eyeshadows, regular powders in lighter/darker shades, and foundation in lighter/darker shades! I love Kat Von D's Lock It Tattoo foundation; I was thinking of buying a lighter shade and a darker shade in that and giving it a go since I'm already familiar with the product. Here's a link to a video using drugstore products to contour...good luck, and let us know what you decide!

Kvd's is powder, just so you know, but everyone loves it. If it wasn't powder I would have bought it too. I think that the abh one is way to warm toned and doesn't look natural. I personally use a cheap cool toned foundation a color darker than my own, and I mix a tiny bit of grey from my mufe flash palette in it to make it look like the color of a shadow on my face. But just using a shade darker and cool toned foundation or concealer can be a great option.

I absolutely love the KVD palette, the shades have beautiful pigmentation and are so easy to blend. It has 3 contour shades and 3 highlight shades plus the pans are a great size so it's definitely worth the price since a little bit of product goes a long way.

The smashbox is also good. Basic but good for a starter kit.

If you have oil skin a cream isn't going to be good for you.

Me personally I love the Nars contour blush it only has 2 shades and comes in 3 different options, I've been using it since April and am very pleased.

I first had the ABH kit, then I gave it away when I got the KVD kit. The colors are just far superior in my opinion. I have a lot of clients so I have a lot of different contour products, but my absolute fav that works almost universally is the Smashbox Pencil Trio kit. The contour pencil is creamy and smooth, blends easily, and with it being a pencil, it goes on in a line so it makes it hard to blend the contour in too large of an area. It's my fav no doubt!

I have both cream and powder of ABH contour palette. I like it though. But I use the powder most of the time than the cream. I only use cream during special occasions. I don't have hard time blending it cos I use a light hand. These palettes work for me. I have the powder for almost a year now and I still have most of it.

I use my Mac 109 for contour. And it helps a lot. Then I blend real good.

Nicole A. I love the Nars Contour Duo! I have PALOMA. But, I don't use it as a contour. Since the Paloma shade has a faint rose-red undertone, I apply it over my Makeup Forever Pro Fusion Bronzer for a neutral, "true sun-kissed" look (slightly tan with a hint of a sunburn).
