Okay! So I'll probably end up having a dark brown/ almost black hair at the end of the summer... I really want coloured contacts, either blue or green. Which do you think would look best AND does anyone know where I can find realistic looking contacts that aren't prescription? I also REALLY love glasses and wish I needed some but I don't so... Anyone know where I could find cute fashion forward nice quality glasses that aren't prescription? What style do you think would suit me best? :)

For the glasses, you could check out eyebuydirect.com they have good quality frames, they're not brand name but they're pretty good.

Great contacts are the Desio ones online! They look so realistic, and there's plenty of shades to choose from! I agree with the deep green eyes!

I think you should get green colored contacts and Forever 21 and Urban outfitters have non prescription glasses. 😁

My friend loves to get her fake glasses at claires maybe that'd be a good place to look for them?

I think green looks really unique with dark brown hair. Though, I heard something about fake contacts being bad for your eyes. As for fake glasses, I would just check stores like Claire's, forever 21, etc. until you find a pair you like (:

I decided to do some research on colored eye contacts for you. They are safe is used properly, but it's very easy to make a mistake and that can lead to eyesight loss and infections. I got all my information on: medindia.net

They cannot be bought at flea markets or stores without prescription. The dye/paint on thee lenses can be very dangerous to the eyes. If you wear non prescribed lenses, they can cause permanent damage to your cornea.

Keratitis is an infection you can get from wearing colored contacts without proper care. You can't keep them for too long or not clean them. They have to be cleaned properly. Don't go swimming with them because lenses are exposed to bacteria in the water which might lead to an infection. Tap water is also harmful. Corneal infections come in a variety of types- viral, bacterial, fungal, or parasitic.

If you decide to wear colored lenses, they recommend you see a ophthalmologist or optometrist if you experience any slight sign of irritation, redness, blurriness, discomfort, or pain as keratitis increases quickly. The site said that at times the infection or scratches from the lens or nails while wearing them can cause corneal ulcers which are extremely painful. The density of nerves on the surface of the eye is higher than any other part of the body. This means that an abrasion or scratch on the surface of the cornea opens the barrier to infections and bacteria which can multiply very fast. When it heals, it sometimes can lead to a scar which might block vision and you will need a corneal transplant.

Please make sure to not sleep without removing these contacts because the eyes don't receive enough oxygen. If you keep them on for 7-8 hours, your cornea can get inflamed so be sure to remove them in that time frame. Always keep your lenses in a case dipped in lens solution. If you rub the lenses, the color will get damaged so be sure to purchase a solution that needs no rubbing.

Make sure to do lots of research and make sure this is a risk and commitment you are willing to make. One mistake and you may ruin your eyesight forever, but colored contacts can be lots of fun (: Good luck. The choice is up to you. I just wanted to inform you of the dangers.

These contacts are fairly realistic. They brand is called "dueba" the line is called "tony" the picture shows the Dueba Tony lens in 'Grey' I believe there is grey, light brown, gold and green I'm not sure if there is blue.
I think you can get then on honey-lens or something. That's the site that is legit. I wouldn't buy them anywhere else.
You should really make sure to get your eyes checked and see what size you wear cause some people need a different base curve like those with astigmatism I believe and if you have that then most standard lenses will be uncomfortable and can cause damage to your eyes

For contact lenses, you need a prescription for the fit, not just the power (correction). So you still need to see an optometrist and have a contact lens fitting to find out the base curve and diameter of your eye, as well as whether or not you have any specific needs such as toric lenses for astigmatism. Most people cannot wear Plano (nonRx) lenses without some degree of damage to their eyes; whether they FEEL it or not. You HAVE to have a lens that fits exactly, else you will experience friction on the cornea that will over time lead to clouded vision (whether you feel it happening or not).

Improperly fitted lenses can cause corneal abrasions and corneal ulcers. These are traumatic wounds on the surface of the eye that can lead to permanent sight loss.

Next thing you have to worry about, particularly when ordering contacts online, is that this is illegal if you live in the US. Why? contacts not prescribed and ordered through an optometrist are contraband because they are regulated medical devices under the FDA. The proliferation of cheap, hazardous lenses is astronomical. Cheap lenses use toxic pigments, cheap materials, and do not allow adequate oxygen flow through the lens to the eye. This can cause hypoxia (strangulation of the eye), chemical conjunctivitis (where the lens fuses itself to the eyeball and has to be surgically removed), and permanent blindness. Any brand that starts with "Krazy" is a bad choice.

Finally, there's the fact that people who don't see their optometrist first are significantly more likely to misuse their contacts, leading to infections, trauma, and other accidents. An optometrist doesn't just measure your eyes, they teach you how to use the contacts, take proper care of them, inspect them for quality and look for damages before insertion, and how to know what is normal versus a problem (e.g. is my eye just dry or is this lens expired?). These things are all very difficult to learn CORRECTLY on your own or from other people. Do NOT trust YouTube tutorials...

I have worn colored contacts for over six years. It is an investment, not something you buy on a whim. Most optical insurances don't cover contact lens fitting because it is a cosmetic procedure and not necessary, so depending on your doctor that visit can cost $50+. Then you have to order the lenses. If you go the safest route and order from the doctor's office, that will be $50-75+. If you choose to take your prescription and order online, you can go to sites like Pinky Paradise or Honeycolor or Desio and pay $30-50, but you will need to purchase contact lens solution and a case as well (~$10 drugstore). No matter how you look at it you are spending at least $100 to get your first pair of lenses.

Do NOT just go to a website and buy contacts without doing your due diligence and having a fitting first. You get ONE pair of eyes in this life and your vision is worth so much more than cheap vanity.

Contacts and glasses are such a pain. I'm not sure why anyone would voluntarily want to wear them if they didn't need them Lol.

I wish I didn't need glasses! I am a tad jealous!
