I'm looking for a new foundation similar to the revlon 24 hour colour stay foundation. I need a long lasting like this one. I also have dry skin too.
And I have a family photos coming up soon and I don't want to look white from the flash.
Any of you ladies know what foundations I should try? :)

Before I suggest anything, why are you switching foundations? What issues are you experiencing with this one and if you use primer, which primer?

I love this foundation. And like I said I have family photos coming up and this foundation makes me look white from the camera flash. I haven't tried a primer before lol I just use powder then a setting spray.

I agree with Demetria, unless you have obsessively oily skin. I have some oily areas and some dry areas, but I just "bake" my powder (apply it super heavily then let it sit on your face for 10 or so minutes) on my oily areas and I'm fine, but I usually don't have to blot throughout the day. I also use a Rimmel long lasting primer. You could try the matte and poreless, but I haven't tried it but hear really good things about it. Then I also hear really good things about rimmel's foundation (the one in the glass bottle with the red cap) and Loreal's infallible foundation (both the matte one and the one in the glass bottle) but I haven't tried these :) hope I helped!!

What kind of powder do you use? Because that could also be what is causing flash back in the pictures.

(Sorry these are separate replies I keep thinking of new things after I send them) but if you have time, you could run to sephora and ask for a foundation sample, or even Macy's and go to their makeup counters. I really like the Lancôme Teint Idole 24h foundation, it's very long wearing, hope I helped!!

The powder is revlon colour stay.
And I also have a mineral powder by maybeline I think.
I haven't tried a primer before. I don't know what will work with my skin :/ I have really bad blemishes that just won't go away :(

For your blemishes you should try the Mario Badescu drying lotion. They sell it at ulta. Make sure if you purchase that you zkeep the liquid and powder separate (don't shake it to mix the two)

If you like the color stay on you but just want something different for pictures I'd definitely suggest going to sephora or a department store counter and ask for a sample of a few foundations and they usually give enough so you'd be able to try it prior to your event and still have enough to use the one you like most on the day of.

Firstly, Sarah's advice is a great idea. You can hit up Sephora or Estee Lauder (for example) and get not only color matched, but a foundation that fits your skin type with enough to try out beforehand PLUS have enough for your big day.

If the only reason you are switching is because of flashback, it is important to note what the reason for the flashback is. Ms. Jacqueline has posted amazingly informative information on why it is people experience flashback in photos, but I was unable to find her posts regarding it, BUT, I did find information from another informed and experienced Beautylish member that is SPOT on, Jordan L.

The advice reads as such:

"...9 times out of 10, it's one of the following culprits:

1. Mineral foundation. LOADED with ingredients like mica (metallic flecks that reflect like a headlights on a stop sign). This is why certain...*ahem*...mineral brands are never used by pro artists who want to keep their job.

2. Bad photography. A flash that is too close will make ANY face white. Made up or not.

3. My "agree to disagree" is translucent powder. I've always used silica-based powders. They look fantastic and my celebrity clients can't live without them. However...applied INCORRECTLY, they can look a hot mess (listening, Nicole Kidman?). Silica-based powders like MUFE HD should never be used on dry skin types. Great in the T-zone for combination skin, and fantastic on oily skin types. However, if you're on the fence, err on the side of caution and test it for yourself:)

4. Heavily frosted powders and liquid highlighters. I LOVE a good illuminating product. Many are gorgeous. And not every client wants matte skin. I use illuminators on almost every client - but this is where it comes back to artistry. The correct application and placement of an illuminator can be gorgeous on camera. Digging a bronzer brush into a shimmery powder and coating your face in a layer of J.Lo will cause a nightmare situation on camera. Every. Time.

5. Jacqueline nailed this one on the head - light concealer! Your undereye concealer should match your skin exactly if not a hint darker. Not lighter. Sounds weird, but looks flawless every time. Oh, and yellow correctors will also create a bad photo-op. Peachy tones work miracles. And photography naturally!

Just as a small, unsolicited makeup lesson: titanium dioxide isn't necessarily an "SPF." It's a white pigment used as the base in almost all makeup - whether or not the label reads SPF or not. Read your non-SPF formulas and, chances are, titanium dioxide is a prevalent ingredient. When I hear people say "don't use products with titanium dioxide in them," I just laugh. "

Hope that helps and good luck!
