I just dyed my hair with a semi permanent dye (manic panic). I mixed vampire red and fuchsia shock. I left it in my hair for maybe like 2 minutes because I was hoping to achieve a slight tint to my hair but it turned out insanely bright and splotchy. it almost looks like I have a hot pink ombre. the top of my head is tinted nicely but further down it's bright pink and it's not even on my hair, it looks patchy. I have a party on Saturday and I have no idea how to fix this other than hoping it starts washing out. any ideas?

Dawn dish soap, dandruff shampoo, laundry detergent... The harshest things will pull the pigment out fastest. You're going to have to use an intense conditioning treatment because this is going to suck all of the moisture out of your hair, but it will help pull those big red pigments out.

Shauna, I see you made 2 seperate hair dye relatede question in a very short amount of time.
You been here long enought to know the rules but I would still like to tell you that due to the huge amont of threads being made everyday, many users experience that their threads do not get any answers and we therefore encourage users to place similar questions in the same thread.
So questions about hair dye and getting hair dye of skin could easily be in the same thread.
We encourage this to make the site run smoothly and make sure that everyone gets their threads seen and get help on their questions.

I actually think the color looks great! It doesn't look patchy in the picture but then again its not an up close pic. But I think you should go get it professionally done to fix it. Yes you can use harsh shampoos to help fade it but then you'll just have more patchiness and a dull faded red and it will be super dry. I would save the trouble and just go have someone fix it to how you want it...

I have your exact problem right now so I have to dye my hair black to get rid of the purple.

Thank you everyone. It's kind of fading I've just been washing it with dandruff shampoo. It's a semi permanent dye so I'm hoping it will mostly just wash out eventually. I rather not use something really harsh on my hair and I just dyed it with permanent dye not long ago so I'm trying to avoid dying it if I can. I'll see how it fades in another week.
that sucks Justine I hope it works out for you
