Does anyone else try to find other uses for products that didn't work out? Would love to hear some of your ideas. Here are some of mine.
*Facial Moisterizer: Use on my neck since my neck isnt as sensitive as my face.
*Real Techniques Foundation Brush: Use it to apply thin stripes of foundation but will use my buffing brush for the actual blending out.
*Gold Metallic Eye Shadow; Use it as a facial Highlighter.
*Hourglass Luminous Light Powder (didn't like it as a face powder or a highlight) Use it to set my concealer.
*Anastasia Dip Brow: Use it as a gel liner.
*Mascara: Use on lower lashes since lower lashes need less volumizing & lengthening.
*Nars Sculpting Blush (don't like it as blush or a contour) Use it as a transition shade to join blush & contour shades seamlessly.
*Face Highlighters too Light (use as inner eye & body highlighters ).
*Anastasia Contour Palette (use as eye shadows).
*Blushes that are too bright. Use as a very subtle "topper" on top of a more natural blush shade.
*Extra Small slightly stiff fan brush (don't even know why I bought this) Use it to blend out contour esp. on nose.
Hairspray; Use it to set brows.
*Large
Paintbrush-like foundation brush: Use it to pat on cream highlighter.

I do the same thing you do:) I can't think of specifics right now but if I don't like something I try to make it work in some other way it isn't intended for. If that doesn't work out, I usually just give it to a friend.

Honestly, no >.<
Usually when I don't like something, the following happens
It gets returned, even if its just for store credit.
I give it to my mom or my best friend.
The only product I have that I don't like is a foundation brush! I use it for cream contouring and other cream products but it's my fault because I have other foundation brushes that I love so much!
I do have some products that I use as multi functional (eyeshadows as blushes/highlighters/bronzers or to fill in my brows, lipstick as blushes, bronzers/blushes/contour as eyeshadows, etc. )

Hmm I'm not that creative but my Becca Afterglow Palette included two highlighters - Topaz and Rose Gold - that were too dark for my skin tone. I tried mixing them with the matte bronzer and blusher and they gave my skin a nice glow! :D

Every now and then I buy a lipstick that is just too pale, (wish I could rock a nude lip.) I use them on top of various dark colors to change it up.

Usually I'll give them to my mom or my sister. If they don't want it, usually it'll go under my bathroom sink (usually just hair and skin products, makeup will get thrown away).

I have a Mac blush in blunt that I bought like 5 years ago I asked for a contouring product and the girl suggested it but it is wayyyyy to warm for my skin tone but it makes a perfect transition color for my eyeshadow. That's the only one I can think off.

@ Marleen that extra small stiff fan brush that you are speaking of is used for mascara application :) It really helps coat each bottom lash.

I use the paddle foundation brush I got from morphe brush set to apply face masks I feel it helps reduce getting germs into my masks as well as apply it more evenly. When I get a foundation that's a bit too light I use it in the places where you highlight before going in with concealer I find it helps blend more. Moisturizers that don't work out on my face I'll apply in places on the body that dry out easily(hands, cuticles, elbows, extra). Lipsticks that are too light I'll either pair them with a darker lip liner or use them to lighten a lipstick that's too dark. Eyeshadows that I don't like I'll mix them with clear nail polish to make nail polish or I mix them with other shades. I also mix shadows with inglots Dublin to make eyeliner. Falsies that aren't as full as I like I'll just stack them or I'll cut them into individuals.

I've also used shampoo that I didn't like and used it to wash my makeup brushes. If I buy a blush that's too light, I'll sometimes use it as a "base" blush, then apply another blush in the same color family over it for a tonal gradient effect, like a blush "transition" shade. Doing that makes blending quicker & easier. Another blush 'save', is I will apply a neutral blush, like Tarte Exposed or Too Faced Baby Love and then pat on a too- bright blush like Nars Exhibit A (way too red & bright for me to wear alone) for a natural happy flush. I had a loose highlighter that I didn't like, so I mixed it with some body butter and transferred it into a purse size jar and use it as a winter hand cream, it gives the back of my hands a subtle glow (just don't add too much).
