I Personally prefer gel. I love the glossy look on nails rather than the Matte, but if you must do a Matte, deeper colors do look better in matte rather than brighter ones. So since you have vixen, it would probably turn out pretty nice.

Matte looks noble! Btw, it`s very trendy this year! Recently I`ve got my nails painted in matte black at my favourite nail salon http://nail-it-europe.com/ in Ibiza (me and my hubby celebrated our 5th wedding anniversary here). My manicure looked irreproachable for 5 weeks!
