I really want to try the Estée Lauder Double Wear Foundation, but I'm whiter than white so I don't think they'll have one light enough for me and I heard it was cakey. has anyone used it? could you tell me what you thought about it? thanks!

I'm pretty fair but not whiter than white fair and I can use three shades 1n1 ivory nude, 1w1 bone and 1w2 sand. The last shade is a nice match for me. You could try 1w1 bone, 1n1 ivory nude or 1c1 cool bone as they are fair shades with different undertones. I really like that foundation for coverage and longevity. It needs to be blended quickly as it dries down fast and I prefer to use a sponge for application. Definitely try a few shades as estee lauder are generous with samples and are very helpful in general. I don't find it cakey but then again I don't use more than one light application then go in with concealer if needed plus using a sponge helps it look its very best in my opinion.

Cakey is an application issue and not a product issue so if you're ever having trouble with something looking cakey then try a different application method. I use a buffing brush for the Double Wear to really work the foundation into the skin. It has amazing coverage and lasts all day (:

It does run pretty dark. However I've only tried the maximum coverage one which is a little dark for me. But the coverage is outstanding.

I have it and oh my sweet child it's amazing! It has a distinct scent to it, but you get used to it quickly. It dries semi-matte and have very nice coverage. It lasts all day without any touch ups and even stays through a little sweat! it feels light and blends beautifully! I would 130% recommend it!

It's a great foundation but if it helps, I'm more fair than MAC nc15 and it was a little darker than nc15 in the lightest shade of double wear. Definitely darker than the lightest shade of most foundations

Rebecca, thank you! I'll definitely have to go and try some of the foundation shades you listed and pick up a sample or two! and Alexis, I didn't know that that was an application issue! I've never had cakey make up before, so I had no idea! I use a beauty blender now, but I do have some brushes I could use as well.

thank you ladies so much! (:
