Every foundation I've ever tried ends up looking cakey towards the end of the day. Could it be the moisturizer I use before? I think I read some where that a certain type of formula in moisturizer can make your face look cakey..I don't think I'm putting too much foundation on either so I don't know. Any suggestions?

What foundation are you using? What products are you using prior for skin prep?

You should try spraying mac's prep & prime spray on the brushes or whatever application your using. It gives me like a lightweight foundation feeling when I use it :)

Try putting your foundation with a wet beauty blender and in the end spray some fix plus by mac.

Cleanse your face and pat it dry before foundation application. Make sure your primer is right for your skin as this sometimes can be why, also make sure your foundation is lightweight as sometimes they are cakey on the skin if not chosen correctly. I'm a makeup artist and sometimes it's due to your primer

I saw this beauty trick on YouTube by Wayne Goss and he said that the trick is to get a palm full of lotion and just start working it into your skin and working it in and working it in more until it's all used up and he said the hydration it gives will make your foundation glide on super smooth! And it should also eliminate any dry patches you have.

Idk if you're doing this or not..but PLEASE moisturize your face. It doesn't matter what skin type you have, it needs the moisture.(:

Exfoliating and moisturizing are VERY important for skincare and to make a flawless base for foundation.

Yea I agree with Chloe. I saw that video by Wayne Goss and ever since I started tripling the amount of moisturizer I use and sponging it in to my skin, my foundation looks FAR less cakey. I really recommend you watch the video. It's a recent video called "how to get flawless foundation". The video is specifically centered around people dealing with issues regarding a cakey foundation finish.

Try changing the application and applying it in thin layers to build it up and spraying your brush with a setting spray as well.

A palm full of lotion? Holy hell that's a lot. Lol. I've been having this problem too, so I just cruised by to see if anyone had answers!
