I just got my email for $20 off a $50 purchase at Sephora and I'm kind of thinking I want to take advantage of it but I'm not sure.
The two products I'm looking into for this are Tarte Amazonian Clay 12 Hour Full Coverage Foundation and a travel size of the Hourglass Veil Mineral Primer.
Any reviews or opinions on these products? Should I opt for something else instead?

I have hourglass mineral veil and love how light it feels, it has spf 15 which is a plus to add if your foundation doesn't have any spf. I recommend this primer, I haven't used anything else since I got it.

I have a love hate relationship with the foundation. I'm in the shade light beige and it's a perfect match and I love the smell and texture, the coverage is awesome. The problems are that if you aren't careful it can look very cakey, it would show dry spots on my face, and I was oily after 2 hours. I have combo skin, mostly oily though.

Allie, I have normal to oily skin so I don't think I'll have too much of an issue with it but thank you for your feedback!
Ivette and Alma, I am definitely picking up that primer! (:

That primer is really smooth. But I think its targeted for normal to oily skin. I'm not saying it won't work for dry skin, it just made my skin drier after as few uses. I found that foundation too thick.

That primer is great. Love everything about it except the price :)
The Tarte foundation I hated. It felt heavy and emphasized every pore and bump on my face. Maybe it was just me, but I've tried applying it different ways and couldn't get it to look right. And Jacqueline explained the texture of it perfectly lol

I use the hourglass primer daily. It's my hg. I feel like it helps smooth out my skin imperfections.
I have never tried that foundation but my best friend is in love with it and claims she will never try another lol.

I just bought the 2 oz bottle of the primer. I love it and didn't want to keep running out. Sorry I'm no help about the foundation...but the Hourglass primer is amazing :)

I have extremely bad experiences with the foundation! It was thick, greasy, and didn't blend into the skin, it stated as a thick layer on top of the skin. Also all the colors have a very yellow tone to them. Not for me at all!

I agree with Jacqueline I absolutely HATED that foundation! I definitely wouldn't recommend it or get a sample before purchasing it. I got 25$ off 50 and was thinking of a primer and foundation as well though.

Thank you, Sarah! I've been looking for a new foundation (getting bored of using my Kat Von D Lock It Tattoo) and I was excited to try the Tarte one but I guess I'll have to look into something else :P.

I kinda liked the foundation. it had nice coverage, and didn't settle on my pours and fine lines. I did, however, make me oily.

Like all the lovely ladies above, I absolutely love the Hourglass primer, I have oily combination skin and it makes me practically shine free for over 8 hours without needing a touch up, which no other primer has been able to do! It doesn't sucks out the life from my skin either and it always helps the foundation go on much smoother, I always give it a few minutes to sink in before applying foundation. Hope you enjoy it! :-)
