My hair has REALLY BAD breakage so I was planning on cutting it in a week or so. I was just wondering if their were any super helpful products that could prevent further breakage? thanks!(:

I know it sounds crazy and its super cheap but suave rosemary and mint conditioner is amazing! When I really need some moisture I mix that with a Paul Mitchell conditioning treatment. Also I'd suggest washing every 3 to 5 days if you can get away with it. Be super careful when hear treating your hair. If you straighten or curl don't put oil in before you apply heat just a heat protectant. If you use oil before it will fry your hair. I have super curly dry hair so it's nice to put a serum in after I straighten to add some moisture back into my hair. The main thing that's keeping my hair healthy right now (I went through the same breakage problem) is regular trims every 6 or 8 weeks. Hope this helps! I know you asked for products but I thought I'd add some styling tips as well!

Alli, I know you are getting a cut, which will absolutely help when you address any dry or split ends, but here are some of my recommendations for reducing future breakage that I recently posted in a similar thread.

(I agree with Haili on using cooler water and Tessandra on the oils.) Loreal has some great, affordable hair masks. Ask you stylist about using protein in your hair. Certain products and types of protein can make hair brittle if overused, but you may want to invest in a great protein treatment for occassional use to restore your hair to a healthier state. If you have an experienced stylist, don't hesitate to ask them for suggestions based on an evaluation of your hair's present state. Good luck!

Argan and/or coconut oil on the ends work great as well. Lush has a split end treatment balm I like to rub on my ends form time to time as well. Most importantly, take a look at what you're eating. Hair products only really work as well as what you're putting into your body. Drink lots of water, and see if you can find foods high in iron, protein, Vitamin E. Hope this helps girl!
