The bigger question is why would gauge something you really like and enjoy against the approval of your school population? You should wear what you enjoy and if someone makes a snarky remark, use humor to deflect it and keep on movin'. It will get stale really quick or turn into light-hearted banter. I wear what many view as Granny Glasses...so I play it up and embrace it...making "Church Lady" jokes and it's fun! It often opens up conversation and if anything your fashion choice is a standout in a sea of drone shoes, so rock them! They are old school cool and go with so many cute outfits.
It kills me to say that as I'm a lifelong Chuck loyalist. ;)
