I recently bought the Kat Von D lock it foundation because I heard great things about it. I do love it (it has great coverage) but it doesn't go on very evenly and looks kind of cakey sometimes. My face is oily in the t-zone but has some dry patches elsewhere. I'm not sure what to do to make it look more smooth and pretty. Please help!

I have the same foundation and the same problem and I found it best to moisturize my face and let the moisturizer sit on my face for a few minutes and then I apply the foundation

Make sure you are letting your moisturizer and primer set before you apply your foundation. What are using to apply it? I don't have this foundation but from the reviews I've seen it's better applied with a damp sponge. Also make sure you aren't applying to much (:

Put on primer and moisturizer before you but on foundation
And the best way to not be cakey is to put a tiny bit (very very small foundation spreads easily) on the back of your hand then dab it on and then if you need more then add a tiny bit more remember less is more
Then after you spread it with whatever you use
Use your fingers the warmth from your fingers helps make it even
Start with the foundation from the sides of your nose and work your way out
From what you use to put it on
Use a damp sponge a beauty blender or just a brush but use your fingers after and work your way out from your nose
