I only wash my hair like once a week so naturally the oils and dirt build up. I read somewhere but I can't find it now but apparently to make a homemade clarifying shampoo you can mix your normal shampoo with baking soda and then wash your hair like normal. Is this correct and would it be okay to do this most times I wash my hair?

It's incredibly drying after a while, its damaging to the root and scalp, and you'd have to rebalance your ph level with diluted apple cider vinegar. I wouldn't. I would just use a sulfate free shampoo.
