If you want to, go for it. I'd think about it for a while though and ask your friends and family who know you. Make sure to weigh out the pros and cons because it'll be hell trying to grow out, but if that's worth it then go for it!

Shaving your side is a bigger commitment than an undercut. I personally love both but an undercut lets you style longer layers over it if you choose to...making growing out much easier.
