I have been loving MAC's plumful for a whole year. I wear it almost everyday during autumn!

And macs rebel

I'm wondering what your definition of "not too dark is". for me, macs cyber would be an example of too dark but for others nyx slcm in rebel would even be pushing it.
in general I like a bold purple or red lip for fall. a few of my favorites are rebel by mac, its a nice mid berry color. (and let me just say now that I like to use mac colors for references a lot, but there is almost always a dupe for less than half price). macs sin and dark side are beautiful dark reds. I love macs heroine (and maybelline's vibrant violet as a dupe) for a more bold look. I think a darker fuchsia is beautiful for fall and my favorite has actually been an almost duo-chrome shade called #36 in the me now generation ii liquid lipsticks line (they are called lip glosses but they don't act like glosses, they are like if lime crime and kat von d's formulas had a $2 baby). I have only found the me now products on amazon, ebay, bornpretty, wish, and a few other websites like that, but I have ended up buying 25 of the 38 shades because they are just so amazing (and so cheap) formula and color wise. they also have a shade 22 that is a deep plum that I love for fall (but it may fall in the "too dark" category as it's borderline for me) and a number of reds that I love (their number 28 is ruby woo in liquid form I kid you not). fall is also a perfect time to try out brownish/taupe lips, like limecrime's cashmere (not to go on about the me now products, but their number 18 is a popular dupe for cashmere), macs velvet teddy, or wet n wild mochalicious (depending on your skin tone some of these might look brown or they might look like a perfect nude). of course nudes work year round, and personally I like to choose darker or mauvier nudes for fall and winter, like maybelline's warm me up (which is almost exact in color to macs brave) or touch of spice (a little different than mac's twig but a popular dupe for it) instead of mac's blankety or angel which I would wear more in the summer. nyx's tea rose is a good pinky - nude for year round. I've racked my brain as much as I can for now but I hope it helps a little

I go for the berry shades because they are deep as red but they stick within the fall/winter season. I love Anastasia Beverly Hills liquid lipstick called Sad girl? I believe and I love it! Also Mac plumful is gorgeous as well :)
