I've never experienced a breakout from threading. Is this an issue you've had in the past or is it something you've heard happens frequently?

Ps I break out from a ton of things but never threading so it's not as if I'm not prone to them:(

I know what you mean, when I wax, this happens to me. I suggest using a toner over it with a cotton pad, or applying aloe vera gel. I'm no expert though.

Apply aloe vera gel that's been cooled immediately after.

Also make sure they're cleaning it after with alcohol or something, the wax could be irritating the skib.

I would advise alcohol right before the threading to kill all bacteria before hand. then immediately after threading you can use cool aloe vera gel like R T said. follow it up later on by a light oil free moisturizer. repeat aloe vera gel and moisturizer for a few days. you should be fine.

I agree with cleaning the area before and immediately after. I had this issue when I would get my eyebrows waxed and if I would bring something to clean my skin and moisturize immediately after, I wouldn't have any breakouts.

Wax always made me look as though I had gotten burned. I switched to threading and it made me get these little bumps that took days to go away. So before I go to get my brows threaded I do a mini facial with steam. I do very minimal skincare and place Argan Oil or a thick moisturizer on. I keep gentle wipes that contain vitamin e, a & c in my bag and clean my entire face after. Then I apply a moisturizer. It sounds like a lot but it works. I have very sensitive skin on top of being oily and acne prone.

Just curious but do you beauties think it could be the threaders and not you? Maybe you all are breaking out because the person doing the threading has used the same threads on multiple people and I'm assuming threading is similar to plucking hairs and can cause the skin to bleed or even be irritated so if they don't use brand new threads on every client I would think they become a breeding ground for bacteria and even possibly the spread of blood borne pathogens (if they caused two different people to bleed) so maybe if you request they use sterilized or new threads on you then maybe that would help? I've never had my eyebrows threaded so I'm not 100% sure how it works so it's just a theory.

I broke out the first time I got my brows waxed, after that I just got them threaded because it was cheaper lol. but if you don't like your thick brows, threading actually makes brows thicker.

@Diana, at the place where I used to go for threading, they would always throw away the threads after they were done with a client. and I think its common practice too.
