I didn't get passed on to the next interview. The recruiter said I have amazing potential but she didn't pass me through because I had no cosmetic retail experience. But that's okay! I'm still trying to find a retail cosmetic job! I've been told no a lot or we love you but have nothing to offer you. To say I'm discouraged is an understatement but at least I looked good!

Once again thank you to everyone who helped me out💕

Very beautiful. Definitely good choice going with this look! Sucks you didn't get passed through, maybe next time! :) Have you tried Ulta? they're pretty lenient there.

Sorry about your luck, but you look absolutely stunning! Russian Red makes your skin so creamy (is that weird to say??).

Gorgeous makeup! I would definitely try Ulta. They hired me in a managerial position and my only prior retail experience was selling shoes, so I'd definitely give it a shot if you haven't already.

Uhhmazing job! I love that lip color on you, you're a vision!

I'm sorry you didn't get the job- it's a catch 22 with retail experience because it seems like everyone wants experienced people selling their products so you can't really start anywhere. Here in Italy, to work at Sephora, there's a requirement of 3 years cosmetic retail experience. Start small, maybe next year they'll hire you :)

And I've got to say, I love this type of follow-up thread and that you took the time to thank everyone who helped you:)
Good luck!

Thank you so much everyone! You're too sweet! Yeah I have about 2 years retail
Experience just not cosmetic. But no worries! I'll get there eventually! And no I am not a trained cosmetologist. I am self taught and I freelance!

Have you tried places like Macy's?! They'll hire people with no cosmetic retail experience, especially if you at least look like you know what you're doing with makeup, which you clearly do.

Yes I have been interviewing with Macy's like crazy but I'm looking for full time 35-40
Hours and they don't have anything to give me. I think I'm going to go back to Macy's though and say that 28-32 hours is fine and then do something on the side like dog walking haha! I freelance on the side but I would need something else too.

That's a good call! I know a good amount of hours at any retail job are kind of slim pickings right now, but securing work at Macy's or anywhere like that will be great cosmetics retail experience at the very least, even if you have to temporarily settle for a cut in income (which I know can be very hard!). And definitely a little more in line with working at a place like MAC, since places like Ulta and Sephora are largely self-serve in their structure.

Yeah it will be hard especially since I'm paying off loans but I can manage!

Thank you Haili!😘
