Oh Lord! I had a horrendous perm when I was in 5th grade...I wanted my hair to have beachy waves, and my mom tried telling me it wasn't going to turn out like that. Well, I had the $ from my bday and I insisted I get it. Mind you, I was in my awkward tween stage. I had tight curls that took almost a year to relax and look halfway decent. It probably ruined my virgin hair and I don't even want to think about the CHEMICALS they use! If your heart is set on getting on, make sure you know what to expect! My stubborn younger-self had to live and learn from that one! LOL!

Chemical straighteners are called relaxers. They are mostly used on African American textured hair as this type is tightly coiled and curly. The damage that comes from relaxers is basically from the main ingredient sodium hydroxide or lye. Which is used to de-clog clogged pipes.

Yes, it damages hair, but so does frying it everyday so I think damage is about even. It will turn out the way you want if you make sure to go to a very good hair dresser who is experienced and knows exactly what you want and how to do it!

Please get dne by a professional.if your hair is bleached I suggest you dnt do it cuz it will destroy your hair.I wish I could hve a spiral bt thy say no.I hve highlights.

If you do get the perm don't do it at home. and if you do it at home DON't leave it in any longer than the instructions say. I did and I lost a patch of hair and was bald on that spot. my friend got her perm done at a salon and it ruined her hair in the end she had to cut it all off just be careful getting a perm I really suggest that you don't get one.

It depends on which salon you want to have your perm, I had digi perm twice and I love it. I always perm my hair at tony and jackey salon.
