I wear uniforms and it's actually pretty nice. You don't have to plan an outfit and the only thing you have to worry about is your hair and makeup :) I love it!!

They aren't always cheap! The private schools in my area charge upwards of forty to fifty dollars per uniform ensemble, multiply that by five days a week. I got my school clothes from thrift shops, bargain stores, and hand-me-downs and I made them last. If your size hasn't changed drastically you don't need new clothes every year. I wore the same pair of sneakers from fourth grade through high school and I am still wearing them in college! My family couldn't afford a full week of groceries when I was in grade school, let alone a set of costly uniforms. Maybe it is cheaper in other countries where the public schools have them, but here it is only the wealthy who send their kids to private schools and thus buy uniforms. :/

I had to wear them since third grade. I under stand them looking professional and in my town, keeping the 95% or girls that dress ridiculous and dirty in check; it's annoying. I couldn't express myself. I felt locked up. My school is so struck now, our high school is about to wear uniforms. And it makes me mad cause its not everyone's fault. My school system is just about to collapse though, so it's not like it matters anymore. 😒

Emily its while theyre not cheap I know I paid about 90 euro for the skirt alone, its not as if you have to buy a new umiform 5 days a week like clothes, that skirted lasted me the 6 years I was in the school and my younger sisters still wear it, it looks practically the same as it did my first day of school, I went to a public school but people I know in private schools paid close to the same price. Amber I see what you mean its not fair that everybody should be punished because of what others do. Is there any way you can express yourself through make up, hair, jewelery...

When I was at primary uniform wasn't bad polar shirt or cardigan with skirt or trousers or summer dress but when I started high school it was them same until they changed it to blazers that didn't fit which had to be worn, blouse and tie with trousers or skirt with tights but girls ended wearing really short skirts the uniform looked awful and scruffy but cost loads :/

My school has never had uniforms, and I liked to have the feeling of expressing myself.;)

Absolutely hate it, is making my high school year a living hell, considering the face I'm going to major in fashion.
