IMATS or The Makeup Show?

I purchased tickets last year for IMATS NYC in April. I have never been! Now I see that The Makeup Show NYC is in May (haven't been there either). I definitely want to go to both. Looks like I am more familiar with the vendors at The Makeup show verses IMATS. I want to manage my budget wisely and not blow it all at IMATS! Has anyone been to either? Feedback on each show?

I've been to IMATS London twice, and plan to go again this year! I've had a really good time both years!
got to meet some awesome people, watched great demos (met Warrick Davis!) and found some really great deals :)

...I'm assuming The Makeup Show is just an American thing? I've not really heard of it here.
