Maybe its because your diet doesn't contain the essential vitamins especially B complex...biotin tablets improves hair growth but I haven't tried it. Best way is to reduce chemical and heat treatment and have a hot oil massage every week,it stimulates the hair follicles aiding faster growth. I have switched to herbal stuff and now I have got long and thick hair.

It depends on how quickly your hair grows but of your hair only grows at a rate of half an inch every month and you get 2 inches cut off you are only cutting what extra has grown. try cut less than 2 inches every four months. there's actually an article I was reading on this site last night that says that average hair only grows 1/4 to 1/2 an inch every month.

@Stacy I know my hair grows about 1 inch every month ( we could measure it pretty accurate when I had blonde hair) but I might just cut 1 inch from now on..:)

for oiling, natural coconut oil is the best for hair.
for shampooing: I have switched to herbal shampoo like himalaya (indian brand)
