Is anyone else going through that awful stage where you need to get into the salon, but it's not pay day yet?
(Roots, undergrowth, ends need trimmed, etc.?)
I just want to wear a hat lol

That's a permanent stage for me, lol. I can't afford to go to a Super Cuts and get a $10 haircut without cutting somewhere in my budget. I need a job that pays more... :/

Heather maybe you should color your hair closes to your natural level so you don't notice your roots?

Mercedes, that's what I've been doing. But when I tell the salon lady I want my exact color "touched up", for some reason that means go super blonde.

I almost always feel that way! Sometimes I feel as if my hair is just so unmanageable that I just end up braiding it!

I've been going to awful stages with my hair since I was 16. my father kindly gave me his hair genes which means I started going grey at 16 just like him and because my hair grows so quickly the greys in my roots are noticeable 2 weeks after I've dyed my hair. grey hair showing through in full front bangs is not a good look.

Aww Stacy! I wish I could wave a magic wand and take the grey away! My man has greys & he's only 28. I could not imagine :/

I'm a ginger, so I hated my hair from age 10-16 (currently 17). I was bullied like crazy, called every disgusting red hair-related name in the book and it got so bad to the point where I begged my mom to let me dye my hair brown. I had brown hair from Summer '10-Summer '11, age 13-14, until it finally grew out when I was 15. Over the past couple years I slowly started getting used to the color and accepting it. Now at age 17 I'm proud to be a ginger and embrace it as much as I can.

Becca, your natural hair is so pretty on you! I have a gorgeous red-headed friend and she adds other colors to make her red pop!

Me me me! I'm stuck with black hair because I've been dying it black so long and it's going to take so long and be so expensive to get it lighter again :( and my blonde roots are showing lol.

As women we always want what we don't have. I've been through every color possible numerous times. and you always look back at pics of yourself and say awww I miss that look. right? I'm currently blonde and dealing with the whole dark roots nightmare while I'm awake. lol ugh. before going all blonde I was two toned black and blonde. I had the same problem with premature grey hair just on one side of my bangs. so I would just do that side blonde to avoid the grey on black roots. ugh...then my hair started getting tired of the black die and wouldnt take anymore so picture this...blonde bangs on one side, black hair down to my booty with light brown (like a mouse) roots!! I hated it. so now I've gone all platinum which of course has messed with the integrity of my hair. :( NEVER SATISIFIED! sheesh.

I've tried every colour to hide the greys. at the minute I'm a light to medium brown which gives me about an extra week until they get noticeable. the only solution my hair dresser had was to do blonde highlights but I'd have to get them retouched as often as I get my roots done to cover the greys.
