Just keep it tied up, whether it's in a bun, braid, or a braided bun!

Yes. Keep it up. I have thick hair too. Keep a brush close at hand and all ways have ponytail holders on your wrists and try and keep some bobby pins with you. Also, baseball caps! They can look cute!

I have wavy thick hair and I would say a low bun with a hat or braids and pin your bangs if you have any.

Definitely keep baby powder on hand for excess oil, also do you know those oil blotting sheets for your face they sell in small packages? I just thought maybe you can use that on your roots if your hair gets greasy, add a messy bun and youll be fine!

Last time I went camping I used water bottles to take a shower haha :P I would tightly French braid it the whole time.

I was on an archaeology dig for six weeks where we only showered once a week if we got lucky. I wore bandanas over my hair and to keep it covered and out of my face. Baby powder has a strong smell so I suggest leaving that at home. It is a survival camp, don't worry about what your hair looks like-- it will be the last thing on your mind once you get there. ;)

Thanks for all the advice. They think it's a waste of time with washing hair so we have to suck it up but I think the guys will complain more... no wax either :)

If you are going to bring something, I suggest baking powder. It generally has no smell. Baby powder can attract bees or potentially other wildlife to your tent, which isn't fun. I had a run-in with a black bear during the field season and it was drawn to my deodorant (which was powder scented). Shredded my tent and some of my work clothes. :/ So yeah, go unscented with any products you choose.
