PAINT MARKERS. You can find them in the craft section of any store. They're in boxes separated by colors. Get the fine tipped kind because they're the smallest. Why get these instead of nail polish markers? 1.) not all stores carry nail polish MARKERS and 2.) They're actually cheaper and you get more product out of them! On average they're about $2-2.50 cheaper than nail markers. They also have a soft tip so you don't risk damaging your base coat if it isn't 100% dry yet. I LOVE them. Some people also aren't dexterous to use some of the nail art tools, I certainly am not!
If you can use a marker, you can use a paint marker. The best colors, the ones that show up the best, are black, white, red, blue, purple, green, and some shades of yellow. If you're in a HUGE hurry, you can even just use it to fill in your nails and put on a topcoat. I've done it so many times on my toenails it's not even funny! Here's an example of a SUPER easy nail design. I didn't have a lot of time before I took these pictures, but it shows that you can get perfect little dots without having to wait forever for GLOBS of paint to dry. That's the worst part of nail polish pens :P
I'll post more pictures as I find them! This is my new computer and I don't have a lot of new nail pics on it yet ^_ ^
