Cream Eyeliner Advice please!

So I've had the e.l.f. cream eyeliner in black for a while, and I just got around to using it. It's very pigmented, creamy, and it's easy to use. But because I have such oily eyelids, it smudges on my top lid about halfway through my school day. I've tried black eyeshadow over top but that also smudges. Also note that I use a setting spray daily as well when I'm finished with my makeup - still smudging. Any tips/tricks would be appreciated. Thank you!

Try putting an eye primer all over your lid before applying your liner.

Try a primer, ifnot try blotting your eyelids with blotting paper, then put concealer, a finishing powder & then your eyeliner :3

You could use oil absorbing sheets? Or like everyone else is saying a primer!

Clean your eyelids. It helps get rid of the oils. Do it every day before you put it on. And put primer on. I use the elf primer with the gel eyeliner and I love it.

After washing your face you could try drying them with a soft towel, then put an eyeshadow that is close to your skin color on your lids, and then apply the liner. Also, I use Maybelline Eye studio Lasting Drama gel liner which is only a few dollars more expensive than e.l.f's gel liner, and it stays all day without an smudging, so that's another good gel liner you could try. Hope this helps!

Thank you everyone! and yes I do use a primer. I think I should try another gel eyeliner, I just didn't want to waste the one I have already. :)
