Gel nails paint on nail polish.

Can anyone give me advice on the gel paint on nail polish not the gel nails but the actual polish. I'm considering trying it I've bought some sample polish is here I just need to get the UV but I can also go to the salon to have it done. I want to know how healthy it is for the nail and if it's okay to do once a month. Many of my friends here where them for about a month I don't like the way it looks when they grow out so much but it's an idea to keep them a little stronger and nice looking.

I do gel nails myself. Shellac and Gelish. Not extensions just the polish. I change it every 10/14 days so it never looks scrappy. It saves me loads of money. I can't wear regular polish as it chips within a day or two.

The shillac gel polish can last a week + depending on you nail growth I think its well worth it specially if you dont have time to redo your nails everyday with normal polish.

Love gelish and shellac! I get about 3-4 weeks out of mine! I have them done by our nail tech at my salon.

I wouldn't do that, you need to prep and prime and nail polish isnt a good base for the gel to stay on, it'll just peel straight off:) gel is healthier than acrylic because it lets air in so your nails don't become dehydrated and weak. I don't get on well with gel so I use acrylic!:)

Hiya contrary to the last post gel is not healthier than acrylic. your nails do not need air they do not breathe. the only way to keep nails hydrated is by using a good cuticle oil. you can get a good cuticle oil from a reputable salon.
