I'm having a hard time becoming a freelance makeup artist. what's the best way to start and get yourself out there and have confidence? cause I feel like sometimes I'm not that good enough to be one yet or people will hate my creations. What's the best way to go about it?

Hi Leilani
Firstly, as Jasmeen has advised start off applying makeup to people that you know. Build a reputable portfolio as you go... Your portfolio can boost your business in leaps and bounds. You can ask an up and upcoming photographer to take pro picks. You two can use each other's expertise to build both of your portfolios. Promote your business as much as possible. Always keep in mind that word of mouth is a very powerful tool and can either make or break your business. Thus, trust in your capabilities, build a reputable portfolio of your work, get the word out there and treat each client professionally.
Good Luck
