I've been thinking about trying hair chalking, but I'm not completely sure what color I want to do. Have any of you tried it before? How long does the dye last? Any tips or tricks?

It didn't last long on my hair, but I don't own any heat tools to set it with. Definitely do it in your bathtub, it makes a huge mess. And wear rubber gloves unless you want colorful fingers too. ;)

It does help if you set it with heat. it usually lasts until my next shower, which is usually a couple days.

A WORD OF WARNING: I wet my hair, rubbed in the hot pink chalk, brushed it out, and set it with the iron. I threw on my white blouse and headed for school. By the end of the day my hair wasn't pink- my shirt was! Hair chalk is AWFUL about rubbing off on clothes. I'd most definitely recommend letting it DRY or only doing small sections of hair- and wearing dark colors.
