Try a BB cream or tinted moisturizor they are light coverage compared to foundation, if you have problem skin BB cream would be better suit as it does stand for blemish balm :)

Do you exfoliate your face? Sometimes it can look cakey/patchy because the skin is uneven or has to much dead skin, try a gentle exfoliater to start off with or face peels to get rid of the dead skin!

Skin care first with your favorite tonic or lotion, give a gentle massage before applying your base then FD. Just put enough FD around your cheek and forehead area, then you can spread them using your finger tips or sponge. I recommended DOUBLE PERFECTION FLUIDE from Chanel. Good luck!

Whenever my foundation looks cakey, I spray MACs Fix+ all over my face & I'm good to go.

Try to use mineral powder instead, maybe it's a little bit more expensive but it's worth it!

Use a light airbrush spray foundation an make sure it is fit for your skin tone;)
