It didn't work for me either. I'm currently on a retin-a micro regiment from my dermatologist and I'm getting amazing results. there's a good two weeks where your skin breaks out and is extremely red/dry, but now that I'm used to it my acne is gone and my redness and other blemishes are fading.

Don't do it. It's not good for your skin. And it might help clear your acne but as soon as you switch products, your skin goes back to where you started. Look into more natural and herbal facial products. Try to stay away from the harsh chemicals as much as possible! I use Boscia products and love them :)

I heard once you use it, then stop your skin will break out even more.

Proactive is really really bad for your skin.. It's like a drug that at first makes you breakout a little then it clears you up... But if you ever stop using it, it makes the acne worse then it was before!! And it will take you a long time to clear it up! Try using something natural without a billion different ingredients!

Not a fan. The cleanser is slightly abrasive and the toner has alcohol in it, which dried out my skin. The third "moisturizing product" is essentially worthless. The drying out of my skin caused me to become even oilier which started the entire cycle over and over again. I know it's worked for other people, but not for me. You're just going to have to experiment to find out what works best for you though.

It didn't work for me, but that's because it only works for certain skin types.

I tried it and I starting breaking even more but a friend said that it work for her but she had to keep using. If she stopped her skin went back to having red spots.

It actually worked for me but it dries out your skin. If you do decide to use it, you have to use it everyday and slowly stop using it. If you just stop using it altogether, your skin WILL break out.

I tried it and made my skin worse, guess it wasn't for me. It made my skin really dry and breakout more, I'm now looking for other ways or products to help heal my skin.

My acne used to be terrible. I'm using proactive and it totally cleared my skin. when you use it, you will break out bad, but then it clears up! BUT! it makes your skin very very dry.

Like everybody else is saying, it will make you break out pretty bad when you first use it BECAUSE the formulation is meant to scrub the dirt and bring the excess junk to the surface. I tried it for a while, and it didn't do anything most likely because I didn't use it for long enough. You're going to have to be patient with proactive!

Proactive is amazing!! I'm using it right now and my face is almost cleared up. After you finish the treatment your face feels so much cleaner!!

Proactive is awful. I'm going to school for skin care and we do product chemistry. I've talked to instructors about it and they say stay away. They won't recommend it to anybody.

I used this a while ago I don't like it to much, it does clear my face up but if I miss a day, my pimples come back. So, it's a constant thing. The Aveeno Clear Complexion helped me :)

I love it. I have had adult acne that is just out of control. I was able to minorly control it by being on birth control, but I decided I didn't want to do that anymore, so when I got off BC basically my acne went crazy and I get these hardcore really bad cystic acne all over. And Proactive is the only thing that has helped me. What I dislike about it however is that I go through it so quickly, and I use the jumbo size product, you get twice as much. I would caution you about it. You need to use it twice a day, and you don't really get all that much. It does in fact make you break out, your skin gets worse before it gets better, but it doesn't last long. It WILL clear up your skin, if you stick with it though. Because I dislike that I go through it so quickly, I bought clean and clear's advanced 3-in-1 exfoliation cleanser which has more benzoyl peroxide, it has 5% it's more aggressive and like half the price. So this helps me extend my proactive a bit.
It does depend though, some skin really loves salicylic acid, and some loves benzoyl peroxide. If your skin responds well to salicylic acid, then you don't need proactive(the benzoyl proactive anyway). Mine personally only responds well to benzoyl. Their face and body wash I believe has 2% salicylic acid and it works great.
You should get ahold of a proactive catalog and really look at all their products, they do carry a range with a smaller dose of benzoyl thats gentle and suitable for sensitive skin. They have more aggressive ones, etc. I do believe they even carry more products with salicylic acid(but don't quote me). I refused to go back to proactive(long ago), since years ago when I was in highschool having tried them...and found them way too rough on my skin. But now I don't have the same experience that I had before.

I use proactive every day, but the three step treatment keeps you from getting more pimples, in my opinion their refining mask is a miracle for getting rid of blemishes.

I worked really well for me! I barely break out anymore! But I noticed it causes my skin to get dry so after I use it I put on some lotion to help bring back the moisture.
