Always talk to an optometrist first. Not everyone can wear nonprescription contacts. Get your eyes measured and find out if it is safe to wear Plano lenses. If your optometrist says it would be okay, you can think about ordering some costume lenses.

However, colored lenses without a prescription are contraband in the United States, so if you live here you have to order from overseas. There's a significant cost involved: the lenses are usually between $25-50 a pair, the case is around $2, solution is between $3-7 per bottle, shipping can vary depending on where you live, and a copay at your optometrist depending on your insurance. In total expect to invest over $50 for one pair of lenses.

If after all of that you still decide you want to wear them, buy from a reputable company. YouKnowIt.com (UK based) and Honey Color (Malaysia based) are both trustworthy.

But for the sake of your eyes, DO NOT buy and wear lenses without seeing an optometrist first. You risk scratching your corneas, amongst other serious damage.

Never wear lenses for longer than a couple hours because you will start to get hypoxia in your eyes. Also be sure to take proper care of your lenses: read all warning labels, information pamphlets for your solution, and make sure you clean and handle them properly. Wash your hands before touching the lenses or your eye, and put lenses in before doing your makeup.

If you have any questions feel free to contact me. I've been wearing colored lenses for years and I would love to help anyone interested in them.

Buy from honey color.com! they give you a free lens case (color coordinated too, they're super cute) with every purchase! I know there's a lot of wariness around ordering plano lenses without seeing an optometrist, but I've bought many lenses from Honeycolor and I've never had an issue, ever. Their lenses are a decent price ($20-25/pair) and they offer a huge variety of colors and patterns. good luck! :)
