maybe its drier then normal and its being oily to makeup for the lack of moisture. I found that when I didn't moisturize my skin was always oily, but when I did moisturize it was A LOT less oily. And after a while it gets used to you providing the moisture, so you produce less oil.
My advice, get a good gentle everyday cleanser that wont dry out your skin, and a really good moisturizer. Also if you're not interested in that, I found that MAC's oil control lotion was amazing when I used it.

Use an oil free moisturizer after cleansing. When your face gets dry it produces more oil.

My skin is really oily too- it sucks. But be sure that if you use products that will dry your skin out a lot, that you use an oil-free moisturizer! I know it sounds kinda crazy to do, but if all you're doing is drying out your skin, you face will produce even MORE oil which is not fun. Hope this helps:)

Noelle is correct. over production of oil is often your skin's reaction to you using over-drying products. I used to have oily skin, it never occurred to me to is a moisturizer. when I was pregnant I bought a moisturizer just because of the sunscreen. lo and behold it solved my oil issue too.

A change in your diet perhaps, the weather ... It's one of those things I went through a bad patch of oily skin, god knows why but this is what I did - brought toner cleanser and moisturiser for oily skin. Used sea salt scrub from lush and brought face masks for oily skin, soon sorted it out :) everyone gets patches when there skin changes like now mine is incredibly dry but that is because of the weather /: darn you weather! But nothing Vaseline can't solve!

Use oil free facewashes, toners and moistutizers. Also, always have Blotting paper in your bag. It's essential for oily faces! Just dab the paper on your face and it will take all of the shine/oil off your face! Magic!

Could it be a recent change of your skincare? It could be a sign that your skin is irritated to respond by producing sebum, or hormonal changes such as birth control, puberty or pregnancy.
