I'm curious about chemical straightening for hair.
What's the process and how effective is it?
Has anyone here had it done? Would you recommend it? If so, what's the name of the process/products used on your hair?
Does it grow out or wash out over time?

Is it better to do it at a salon? Is the process shorter there?

I would def do at a salon, chemical straightening can be harsher than dye, especially if you have dry, or extremely curly hair. Plus, an expert will be able to help you choose exactly the right strength and formula!

Thank you girls! I have toyed with the idea but I am so happy to have healthy hair after years of torture and killing it with heat, dye and bleach I am a little hesitant!

i would say talk a stylist first because it is a chemical nd ur hair will not go back to its normal texture if u have curly hair just the roots after ur hair has grown will have the natural texture of ur hair

Thanks for the feedback girls. I don't think I'll put my hair through that, I have a feeling it'll be one of those instant regret things! Think I'll stick to healthy, wavy hair! :)

My friend did it 2 years back.. 1st year it was so good.. After that her natural hair started growing.. Became like messy hair., now she got her hair back fully.. But she is saying this is not her original hair.. After chemical straightening it became more rough and curly.. Now she missing her original hair..
