Ask some older people about how they feel about their tattoos. Personally, all the people I've met have regretted getting theirs.

As for the whole you will regret it when i get older thing. I highly doubt it. At that age im sure ill be forgetful and not caring at all.

And the wedding thing. Iv always been a different child. Likibg weird piercings. bright hair colors and when it comes to weddings. the usual classy wedding. just isnt my style. any tattoos i have wont be covered up and i plan to embrace them at my wedding and let them be shown(:

Don't get anything big get something that's meaningful to you cause it's permanent and it herts and costs a lot more to get it removed

I think tattoos are fine, an I have had this discussion with guys too, and they told me as long as u can cover them up with a dress and still look classy with a dress on them they are fine:)

I am 23 years old and have a total of 20 tattoos at this time and I plan on getting more. things you should definitely keep in mind is placement don't make it hard for yourself to get a job in the future. and also this will be permanent so unless the reason your getting this tattoo is never leaving I say go for it. society isn't ready for change as long as you are 100% sure about what your about to do theres no reason you shouldn't,. I attached a picture of myself and in my opinion I am beautiful just like everyone else just modified. we are all beautiful in OUR own skin.

I have 3 tattoos. I got them at 19 and 21 I also have a tongue ring. I'm now 26 (today my birthday yay) I've been married and had kids since then and honestly aside from grandma asking when I'm getting them lasered off it never comes up. it didn't ruin my wedding dress nor any of my friends wedding dresses. get it if you seriously and absolutely want it.

Hi Shelby, I personally love tattoos. I have 4 & the greatest things about my tattoos is that they all mean something to me and i have had them tattooed on a part of my body that they can be hidden if need be. As long as you are absolutely certain about your tattoo and your tattooist is a highly recommended and respectable artist. Good luck to you.

Who cares what other people's think. If you want it go for it. I started when I was 16 and I'm 19 now and people tell me ill regret them but I haven't I feel that it's a part of the journey of my life and will always have meaning

I have 3 tattoos in total and one of them is big and covers my whole thigh. I absolutely love them and plan on getting more. Do whatever you want to do. Dont worry about what others have to say. I think tattoos are gorgeous.

If you care what people think that's your own issue. But if you want it get it. Not everyone likes tattoos, not everyone likes makeup or is going to find you attractive. But some will. Everyone has different tastes.

I think it depends on what kind of job you want to get when you're older, for example my friend is a nurse and he needs to cover his arm tatts daily or else he gets fired. If you don't mind a daily cover up, then go for it!

Or maybe start your tattoos by placing then in less visible spots.

I have 3 tattoos, and another getting started on my feet in the very near future... I am going to have both my feet covered, one foot as the ocean and one as the jungle, which mean more to me than anything. the 3 I already have, one I got when I was 15- so if you are that young, I would suggest waiting a little longer. I don't hate or regret the tattoo I got at that age but I do think it could've been done better. my other two tattoos are on my forearms and are of both my parents handwriting. I got my dads first, as he passed away suddenly in 2008 but shortly after I realized I wanted my moms too. my Dads is on the right (bottom) and my moms the left (top). both "messages" I took out of cards they gave me and had them traced/enlarged to go on my arm. I love those two tattoos because they mean so so much to me but I do wish I hadn't gotten them on my forearms, although there are few other places that I think they would look good. even though I thought about the one on my back in memoriam of my dad for a very long time and the ones on my arms for only about a month, I realize that if you feel iffy about any aspect of your tattoos, (location on body, location of tattooing, meaning, general feeling,) DO NOT rush into getting them! however, it is your body, and tattoos can be very beautiful- they are artwork after all. everyone's got a story and tattoos are often a really personal thing. its easy to judge, sometimes I do wish I never had any in the first place, but then I remember why I do and I don't regret it at all! good luck :-)

@Meghan m. I absolutely love that idea! I think I may steal that. I'm working on a tree of life made out of words and symbols from my life and words from my parents would be a great concept.
