Morrocan oil probs

Okay so a week ago I purchased the Morrocan oil because I heard so many great things about it. My hair is really dry and damaged and I thought it would help. But no it did the complete opposite ! After a few days of using it my hair was even drier and breaking off more than usual :( can anyone tell me why this is happening?
