I use it on my lips when they're badly chapped, also works on dry skin, like rough elbows!

sara you are correct. petroleum.. does that word sound familiar? that's because it's the same ingredient in GASOLINE. do not use petroleum products, mineral oil is the same as well.

petroleum isn't good for your skin and lips, your skin or lips become accustomed to it. it keeps the moisture of your lips causing lines in your lips. the best lip balm you can use is a lipbalm with different oils.& butters, like: jojoba oil, argan oil, shea butter etc. So use a natural lipbalm

Petroleum is also used in home products, clothing, and cosmetics. Just because it is one component of gasoline does not automatically make it toxic. It can clog your pores if you have sensitive skin, but petroleum jelly/Vaseline has been used to treat dry skin for decades.

I actually stopped using petroleum jelly years ago. I love an actual lip balm with natural oils. And after a shower (I take 2 showers a day) I take a q tip and dap a little olive oil on my lips. Keeps them very soft and healthy.

emily, just because it is in those things does not mean it is not bad for you. there is so much information out there about how it is not good for your skin and body.

If you put vaseline on your lips you might as well go to MCD and rub the fry grease on your face too.
