Can moisturizer be used as primer?

I'm not sure, but I don't think they serve the same purpose, or deliver the same effects.

Bobbi Brown Vitamin Face Base can be used as a primer. Especially those with drier skins. It gives a matte finish once applied.

Generally, it's more like you can skip primer and apply foundation after using moisturizer.

I personally use both. I think moisturizer hydrates your skin for the day while your primer smoothes skin, and depending on the specific product, can mattify, reduce pores or wrinkles, and even tone.

If you have normal/dry skin you dont need to really use a primer as the moisturizer will leave your face feeling smooth and a perfect canvas for your foundation. If you want to use a primer for longevity mix it in with your liquid foundation!

Why not? A lot of products are actually useless but marketing can create a need. My moisturizer is perfect to use as primer.
