I have red hair, and it fades so fast. My main advice is to go as long as possible between washes, and use a conditioner for color treated hair. Also, wait until your hair is really dirty to re-dye it. It soaks up the color better that way.

It fades very fast, if you can't keep up with maintenance, don't get it. I wash my hair once a week and put dye in a deep conditioner so I can compensate for what washed out.

Make sure you buy a shampoo and a conditioner that are specifically for red hair. I use riveting reds shampoo and conditioner from sallys beauty supply. I normally wash my hair once a week and it helps between touch ups.

The longest I have kept my red hair was about a month, I dyed my hair at home using salon products. I have previously getting it done in salon but it faded in about two weeks. I washed my hair everyday in both situations. Make sure to use shampoo and conditioner for colour treated hair.

Try a wig first I would say with the length and color first. See what friends say or just see what you sat.
