What are some products that you use if you have dry skin? Any and everything from lotions and skin care, to foundation; and powders?! I don't personally have really sensitive skin either so that doesn't matter much- just want to know of some good foundations that don't cake up (I currently use HD studio finish by NYX), and lotions/creams/oils that help to moisturize!!

Thank you! Xo

Do you have any pimples or oil throughout the day? If yes you could be dehydrated not have dry skin. I would suggest using a good moisturizer that hydrates the skin, an exfoliate 2-3 times a week, and if you use primer under your foundation it can help prevent the "caked" look.

Nope- I wish I had natural oil on my face haha! and I'm not dehydrated, I drink almost a gallon of water a day, I'm pregnant so my skin does weird things :) I do all of those things already too :( So I'm just thinking about going to a dermatalogist because it's just dry, it's always been dry but just more so now that I'm pregnant than I can control I guess. I use two different exfoliaters, one is a dead sea scrub from Isreal and for my face I use St Ives and then put on bio oil on my skin and face and I have a lot of other creams I use and I use a silicone moisturizing primer under all of my makeup so I'm not really sure what I'm missing here?!! :(
thank you though!!

Try a serum or a face oil! I have dry skin and I use the Kate Somerville quench serum every morning and every night before applying my moisturizer. Go to sephora and get a sample to try out for a couple days! I would also even say get a sample of Cliniques moisture surge moisturizer or ole henriksen truth hydration. See how those work I promise you will see results!

Try the olay moisturizers. I use the one for sensitive skin before applying my primer and foundation.

Cetaphil lotion is amazing. I had skin so dry it hurt to smile, but now thanks to the lotion (used twice a day) my face is always soft!

Amanda sometimes it doesn't matter how much water you drink which sucks I know! When my sister was pregnant she had the same skin problems and not much helped. And don't use the st Ives exfoliate please! It's terrible for the skin. From sephora try first aid beauty ultra repair cream. It's amazing on dry skin especially in the winter.

I have dry skin and have had the same problem of trying to find a good moisturizer that doesn't feel greasy either. I have found that Clinique has some great moisturizers with benefits to them. I use and love their youth surge and my face feels great!! My body on the other hand I can't find anything to get it to feel moisturized.

Using different oils can really help make your skin smooth! I would use baby oil, tea tree oil, cocoanut oil, and/or olive oil... Tea tree oil is one of my favorites and it can help with acne as well!

Thank you everybody for all the helpful things that works for you! If anyone knows of any good moisturizing cleansers too that'd be awesome! So many cleaners, toners, and masks even I feel like just pull even more moisture from your face while washing it! I love coconut oil, esp it's great in your hair!!

@Mimi - Thank you, I'm deff going to try that quench serum, I love serums! Can you get it anywhere else besides Sephora, like Ulta maybe? The sephora by me is sooo small and they don't have much :((

@Janet, what did your sister use- like anything work for her? And it's hard too esp with being pregnant I try to use the most organic/natural products I can find, but sometimes you just don't get that option, or you aren't allowed to use certain creams&lotions. Certain ones with retinol a or salacylic acid are not allowed while pregnant! Which you'd be suprized so many things have that in them! And about St. Ives- what's so bad about it? I've used that product for years and I absolutely love everything about it :( I'd hate to have to let it go! Thank you for the tips!!

@Lisa, I've been wanting to try the Clinique moisturizures line for so long! I'm so glad a lot of you recommended them- they must be good! Do you get yours from Macys or somewhere else? I don't really know where you can test, smell, and see a wide variety of their products besides some macys cosmetic counters, right?? I use bio oil at night on my skin (esp the bottoms of my feet) and sometimes my argan oil dry mist but bio oil doesn't leave your sheets or pillows stained at all, and you wake up with baby soft skin, it's the only thing that's really worked for my body that I've found! Most lotions I feel like I have to keep reapplying and reapplying and the either dry so quick without any results or leave you really greasy and gross feeling- if you've ever experienced that? But one lotion I do really like and have noticed my skin is firmer and tighter with using this is, the St Ives Skin Renewing lotion with collagen elastin in it, which is just supposed to make your skin tighter and look more toned. I love using this on my legs, neck, chest and arms; it really works for me!

@Mardiana, is it called embryolisse lait creme? Where do you get this??!

And thanks again to everyone who said cetaphil too I'm going to have to buy some and try that out too!

The best skin cream I have found (and that includes the expensive stuff from stores like sephora and ulta) is good old Ponds' dry skin cream. It is about $5 at wal mart.. Comes in a white container with a blue lid and I use it every single night after my shower. I have also noticed it helps with my red cheeks I seem to get in the winter. Highly recommend this!

Ulta doesn't carry Kate Somerville but they do carry murad, they have an amazing product called Hydro-dynamic ultimate moisture. It's super hydrating and doesn't have any parabens, fragrances, sulfate or synthetic dyes!

Burt's bees intensive hydration moisturizer is a life saver! start with a great moisturizer so your makeup goes on better.

Mimi, is the hydodynamic ultimate moisturizer a serum, or lotion? Just because I really wanted to try out some new serums, they seem to work the best for my skin- so I was super excited when you suggest the Kate Summerville one- I'll probably see if my Sephora has it, if not I'll look online or something. Thank you for your advice! Do you know of any good scrubs or chapsticks/lip products that are hydrating too? Because, my lips get really dry in the winter too and I exfoliate them now with just a plain sugar scrub, but still am looking for a good product that I can try out that will help keep them hydrated bc its my biggest pet peeve when lipstick gets in the lines/creases of your lips, it looks so tacky! thanks again! xoxo.

The best moisturizer I've found that clears up dry patches overnight is mary kay oil free hydrating gel. it comes in a purple jar. I had a really bad dry spot on my chin from kissing my bf, his stubble really irritated me. nothing else really helped until I used some of a sample of this I had laying around. it was GONE the next day. it is not something I'd use on a daily basis on my entire face, because I don't need it. but for extremely dry skin I highly recommend it.

I've also been using a sample of mario badescu's bee pollen night cream and it is very thick and heavy. it can be very moisturizing.

for daytime I use cerave, which works better than my clinique (the yellow bottle). I noticed my skin was getting dry this winter (our weather has been crazy, literally 2 days between being freezing and being in the 60s) so I wanted to try something else. cerave works well for me.

I love too faced bb cream, and I've seen reviews that it is not good for people with oily skin. so if you have dry skin, I think it's a really good idea to try it. I LOVE it and have used it daily since last august when I discovered it.

oh, and the mario badescu hyaluronic eye cream is SUPER moisturizing for the eye area.

Lubriderm is a body lotion, isn't it? it's really important to use lotions that are MADE for the face.

If your looking for a good cleanser for dry skin, try "nude perfect cleansing oil" it works wonders on my dry skin and smells amazing!!

It's a lotion but they do have a soothing serum that helps with hydration as well from murad...for lips try the fresh sugar lip treatment also at sephora, or you can try pure vitamin e oil...I think you can get it at whole foods.

Hi amanda. when I was pregnant my skin did some very weird things too. sounds like your going through something similar. I started using clarin hydroquench with spf 15. its been brilliant and I still use it now.

Thank you anjum! It's really weird the things your body does when you're pregnant...the things noone ever warned you about haha!
