I have super sensitive skin and have been through it all..aquaphor is too heavy and isn't good for a sensitive skin type, and lubriderm is great if you want to apply it 20x a day. Gentle and light but I still find that if you have darker colors and/or black outlines, it doesn't hold the ink as well. There's a brand out of France, Derm-Ink which has both a soap and a balm, however the balm especially stands out as it is the perfect in-between in regards to consistency. It is non-scented and absorbs quickly but is highly emollient versus the other sticky A&D ointments.

I used tattoo goo I think it's called on one of my tattoos and really liked it. I bought it at the shop but I think I've even seen at Walmart

Any unscented lotion with no dyes will work :) my tattoo artists always told me to put a tinyyyy amount of aquaphor on it too. Great stuff for tattoos!

Any cream used for babies bums is perfect and recommended. Bepanthen is what I've always used.

I was told to use A&D ointment for 2 or 3 days then start using Lubriderm after that. But any lotion without fragrances will work.

I second Yasmin M, bepanthen is great for tattoos, healed and unhealed. my tattooist recommends it.

A&D ointment or Tattoo Goo.

A&D and other ointments are only for the initial healing (up to 5 days or as instructed by your tattoo artist). After that use any fragrance free lotion. Cetaphil is good, I use nature's gate unscented lotion because its vegan.

Cetaphil or Lumbriderm are my faves, but really any lotion that's unscented and super moisturizing will do :)

NO VASELINE. I use Bepanthen ointment (not the cream), and my boyfriend swears by vitamin e cream as long as it's unscented and alcohol free. He used to use Invite but now it has alcohol in it so he's stopped.
