Is there anything recommended to get rid of oily skin? Maybe a diy or a spray before putting on makeup? Just to not look so shiny?? Help?

Milk of magnesia works wonders just apply a thin layer of this stuff all over your face or just the parts that usually get oily let it dry then go about with your normal primer and foundation routine. hope this helps

I have oily skin also and this is what works for me:
I cleanse day and night with clinique mild using my clarisonic, retin a gel at night, during the day i use clinique moisturizing gel, hourglass mineral primer and lancome 24hr foundation and this routine combats my oiliness. I worked from 9-5 and went straight to the gym after work and my face still looked amazing.

Does the milk of magnesia cause any breakouts? Do you wear it all day?

Witch hazel as a toner and a couple drops of jojoba oil

Try using an appropriate cleanser with a Clarisonic. Keeps pores clear and gives a nice exfoliation. If your skin type is oily, you can't really change it buy you can manage it. :) good luck

You could try urban decay's De Slick make-up setting spray. Use it after applying your make-up- De-Slick is specifically made for oily skin. 😄

stay away from starchy and sugary food and always remove your makeup before going to bed. exfoliate your skin mildly and you can also use oil blotting sheets which removes the shine and excess oil without ruining your makeup

Blotting papers are a must! Just adding powder will build up. Blot away and thank God that you will be happy you had oily skin when people are getting wrinkles and you are not.

What do you guys think of Maybelline's mattifying cream>
Feb 3, 2013
Angelica S.
@Melissa E. No but it does cause some white spots on your face when it dries but once you apply your primer over it the white spots will disappear.

I have being using Milk of Magnesia & it works well. I still get a little oily but look really refreshed when I touch up. Use it sparingly & make sure you shake it will. It may dry white but that's no a deal. Your foundation will cover it up. I love it!
