Are you under a lot of stress? I would try to maintain a healthy lifestyle and eat a lot of protein.

Multivitamin, lots of water, and considering your 17 it might be your hormones. Talk to a doctor if it gets too bad. But DO NOT STRESS. Stress makes your hair act weird.

There is a vitamin called "biotin" I swear by it! You can take up to six a day! Its good for hair and nail growth. Only downfall: ALL of your hair grows at a faster rate... That means more shaving, tweezing, and waxing... Also lots of water helps

Seriously- go to a doctor and get blood work. Youre lacking something. Or its your thyroid. Your too young to be having such hair loss.

if you never brush your hair , you might think its a lot falling out but really its not. and curly hair is naturally quite dry compared to straight. just relax, eat more foods with natural oils and fatty acids and write in a diary if you feel stressed at all.
