Make sure you brush your hair before putting it up if not it gets soo knotted! It will take hours to come out nd you will use alot of,conditioner

Put conditioner in ur before u get in the pool. It will keep ur hair from absorbing the chlorine. shower immediately after. lots of moisturizer.

Swim caps. Swimmers wear them for a reason. Put conditioner on first (no oils for latex caps, will break it down) and it's like an hour long hot treatment for your hair. Also make sure you moisturise before and after. You want to plump your skin (and hair) with moisture product so it doesn't absorb the pool water. Rinse before and after the pool then shower after with not hot water to make sure you rinse off the chemicals (sounds like a bromine or salt pool, lucky!) before you wash. The rinsing before will also help keep your skin and hair from absorbing too much salty/chemical water. There are shampoos for swimmers but I find that a VERY VERY GENTLE (Aveda shampure, or just a co-wash like Wen) is less harsh, same with body and face, the less harsh the better. Avoid cetaphil, use something that doesn't have sulfates or lots of foaming agents to wash with.
(I swim every week, have hair to my waist & sensitive rosacea skin so I know your problem! Only my place uses chlorine, even worse! I get out and am *so dry* my feet stick to my shoes.) Good luck, and enjoy your water time!

Good luck! I would definitely wait, or if you really don't want to, you'll HAVE to use a cap as the pool water will just leach the colour out and the colour can run and maybe even go weird colours. I had a pool tech scream at me for having uncovered pink hair in a pool once. :( That was awful. Anyway, swimming is awesome for you and I hope something helps!
