So I heard if you take asprin and crush it up and mix it with a little water and apply it to your acne it works wonders! Is this true?

Sadly, it didn't have an affect on me. it will decrease the redness for a few hours, and then go back to normal.

Aspirin is acetylsalicylic acid, which is chemically similar to topical salicylic acid. However, oral ASA is not likely to be properly absorbed transdermally (through the skin) because it is designed to be dissolved in the stomach. You're better off applying salicylic acid via a topical formula (chemically prepared for absorption via the skin). The idea of adding the water to the tablet is to start the chemical dissolution process before applying to the skin, but again, it's not the most effective method (but could certainly be better than nothing in a real pinch).

I have heard about it on youtube but never tried it. Tell me how it works for you! :)

I've tried it a few times. you don't have to actually crush the aspirin. just be sure to use the uncoated kind and add a few drops of water. it doesn't take much at all and the aspirin will dissolve quickly. I didn't think it did much for me though.

I mix it with yogurt and green tea and make a face mask. Keeps my skin clear and firm. :)
