I think it's just personal preference, I like circles, in collage we learnt moving from your neck upwards in semi-circles and zig-zags and I prefer warm water:)

I really like Warmwater too. But everyone stressing Luke warm to semi-cold water as to not dry the skin out. Also, depending on your skin type I don't feel toners are necessary part of the skincare regimen. And less I'm extracting I really never use them. I have extremely dry dry skin. Toners just exacerbate the problem.

toners are there to help bring back the natural ph level otherwise if you don't tone your more likely to get extra bacteria on your face

Yes, even oily skin needs moisture!! I have combination to oily skin and would hardly ever moisturize. Now I do and my skin is much better off since I started.

I recommend you the book "The Japanese Skincare Revolution", it teaches method of facial massages for different facial care.I tried the lotion method in the book & my skin feels so plum afterward.
