I have this problem too. The only thing I can suggest is lots of dry shampoo for volume at the roots, a volumising shampoo and not to wash the hair too often.

This is gonna sound crazy, but an old German trick that works is to saturate your hair with ale beer, let it sit for 30 mins, then rinse out. The yeast plumps the hair fibers. I've tried this and had good results. I've also heard a mix of mayo and olive oil will work well too, sit for 30 and rinse with shampoo.

I have very thin hair, so for night time wear, I put in Velcro rollers ( gives volume) then I used wavy cip in extensions, there amazing!

I second the Nioxin. It works wonders, works best if you use the entire system.

You should try tape extensions. They're new, cheap, but they still look really nice! They last for like 3-4 months too
